Venceslas Square
Venceslas Square is one of the best known places in Prague. The place is the very heart of the city - its a culturaland bussines centre of the capital and in fact of the whole Czech Republic.
The square is allmost 700 m long and ca. 60 m wide. It's upper end is closed by the building of National Museum.
The original name of the place was Horse Fair.The name Venceslas Square is a product of the "National Rebirth" in the first half of 19th century.
The most remarkable monument is an equestrian statue of st. Venceslas, the godfather of Bohemia, made by Vaclav Myslbek.
