Karlovy vary (Carlsbad) is the most important spa in the Czech Republic. The place is as well famous for its glass manufacturing.
The emperor Charles IV. founded at half of the 14th century a spa on the site of mineral water spring and called it th "Cure bath by Loket castle". Later, the place was renamed to Karlovy vary - The Charle's Spa.
At the beginning of 19th century was founded the Becherovka, famous liqueur. Since 1946 in Karlovy vary takes place a well known film festival.
