Ostrava is known industrial town inb Silesia, close to the polish state border. The name comes from the name of local river Ostra, today Ostravice. In 1763 there were found here large coal-seams. In 1830's founded here Rudolf Jan first metallurgical works, which came later in the ownership of the Rothschild family and was renamed to Vitkovice.
